Marengo Second Ward Alderman
I am a third-generation resident of Marengo. I graduated from Marengo Community High School and am raising my 3 kids here. I am a member of Zion Lutheran Church and am very active in the community I grew up in:
City of Marengo Alderman, 2009 - Current
Marengo Mainstreet Board of Directors, 2009 - Current
Marengo-Union Rescue Squad District Board, 2004 - 2009
McHenry County Housing Commissioner, 2010 - 2012
Leadership Greater McHenry County, Class of 2010
Former or current volunteer Jr. Tackle Football, Little League, Little Indians Basketball & T-ball Coach
As a Marengo Businessman, I have faced the same challenges that confront our small businesses in this uncertain economy. I not only call Marengo home but I also work here as a Mortgage Loan Originator for Prairie Community Bank and am in charge of sales for my family’s construction company.
My previous eight years as a Council member is an excellent foundation. Additionally, I’ve lived in Marengo for 35 of the last 43 years and while that alone doesn’t automatically qualify me to be a good candidate, it certainly has given me perspective. Marengo is a wonderful place to live and raise a family but if you look far enough back in the rear view mirror and compare it today there isn’t a lot of positive change. I have the courage to stand up and say “We need to change in a positive manner” It is my opinion that if we don’t create positive change, then negative change will slowly just “happen to us”.
My experience for the last 30 years as a Public Servant, has taught me how to listen and accomplish public requests. I have a well rounded background that provides me with the knowlegde and resources to be innovative. It is time for new voices in our local politics. I bring new ideas because of my experience, and I am not entrenched in a political system that hasn’t provided us with innovative solutions to our long standing problems.
