On the Record
What experiences do you have that make you a good candidate for office?
I have 40+ Years Management Experience, 20+ Years Corporate Board Experience. Currently I serve on the Lake in the Hills Planning and Zoning commission. I am a business owner involved in every day activity in business and understand what it takes to run a business, make decisions and relate to people in today’s economy. In consideration of running for office I have attended the majority of the Committee of the Whole and Village Board meetings over the last three years, including the most recent annual budget meetings. I believe this wealth of experience uniquely positions me as an excellent candidate for the office of President of the Village of Lake in the Hills.I believe I can make a difference in the future of our Village while maintaining the professionalism our community deserves.
What are your top two or three priorities if elected?
1)Increase economic growth. This is not only in new locations but to work attracting business to all the vacant business locations currently in Lake in the Hills. This will keep our tax base stable. 2) Encouraging the citizens of Lake in the Hills to participate in the community, the community activities, its parks and its government. 3) Sidewalks and street lights in several areas where they don’t exist.
Would you support freezing your taxing district’s levy until housing prices rebound? Why or why not?
While my first response is yes. I am against raising taxes unless absolutely necessary. The majority of the district levy goes to the school districts including the community colleges and library. My children are grown but, we can not stop funding the education of our children - our future. We must also maintain the services and public safety required. The tax levy by the Village itself has been reduced two years in a row.
What one decision by the village board do you most disagree with and why?
I do not have one.
What was the biggest accomplishment of the board in the past year?
To work with the administration and approve a balanced budget.
Why should voters elect you to office?
As a family man and business man living in Lake in the Hills for 14 years, I understand and share the concerns of everyday life in our Village. I am solidly involved in several local organizations which continue to strengthen my belief in service of people and the community in which I live. I believe with my strong business management and corporate board experience, I am the best person to do the job.
